Suzuki Philippines inaugurated its new motorcycle assembly plant today at the Carmelray Industrial Park in Canlubang, Laguna. A brief tour of the plant following the ceremony revealed that it only occupied one-fourth of the property.
Apparently, one possible reason is that Suzuki could soon put up an automotive assembly plant beside the motorcycle factory.
No less than Suzuki Motor Corporation chairman and chief executive Osamu Suzuki shared this plan during his speech. The executive, however, did not divulge any more details about his company's plan to put up a car assembly plant in the Philippines other than it would provide job opportunities for local residents.
If Suzuki does set up an automotive factory in the country, what models do you think it will produce?
