It’s hard not to love all things Porsche 911—timepieces built using recycled parts, special streetwear collections, simple smartphone wallpapers, and now this: A limited-edition model of Porsche Design’s 911-inspired soundbar.
This, ladies and gents, is the new Porsche 911 Soundbar Black Edition. It’s basically the same as the original stainless-steel 911 soundbar, but with a new blacked-out finish. It still has that 911 GT3 exhaust design with the rear silencer and twin tailpipes, but now it sports a combination of matte and shiny black elements all around for a cleaner and more sophisticated appeal.
The soundbar hosts a myriad of features including Bluetooth 3.0 connectivity, 2.1 virtual surround sound, wireless and loss-free aptX technology, DTS TruSurround signal processing, and bass and treble control. It also has an LED display and comes with a remote control.
Do note that the thing’s both heavy and sizeable, so portability isn’t its strong suit. It measures 740mm x 320mm x 280mm and weighs almost 19kg. It probably wasn’t meant as an everyday carry, anyway. Still, you have to admit that this limited-edition design will fit perfectly on any desk.
And just like the supercar it’s derived from, this soundbar doesn’t come cheap—it’ll set you back €3,500 (more than P193,000). Some might say it’s a bit too expensive, but we say the luxury of owning a Porsche always comes at a price.
In any case, what’s your take on this new Porsche gadget? Think this is something a 911 collection should include?
