In case you missed it, Gran Turismo 7 has been delayed to 2022. Bummer, right? Thankfully, it looks like gamers will have at least one new title to keep them satisfied until then.
The first trailer for Test Drive Unlimited: Solar Crown has dropped online, showing off an Aston Martin and Range Rover going at it inside a parking garage. No gameplay footage here, but French videogame publisher Nacon has revealed a July 2021 release date for current- and next-generation consoles. Nice.
Test Drive Unlimited: Solar Crown Trailer
Not familiar with the title? Yeah, don’t think you’ll be getting a hardcore racing sim experience with this one. The trailer, in fact, has almost more to do with the swanky motoring lifestyle of the ultra-rich than actual driving, so temper your expectations.
If, however, you’re content with lighter game mechanics, this might be worth a look.
The last installment in the series came out in 2012 on the PlayStation 3 and Microsoft Xbox 360, and if Solar Crown is anything like previous releases, expect a mix of sim mechanics, arcade racing, and maybe some free-roam driving.
So, what do you think? Will Test Drive Unlimited: Solar Crown be worth your time—at least until Gran Turismo 7 comes out next year? Let us know in the comments.
