If you're an Apple user with an Apple CarPlay-equipped car, then you haven't been able to enjoy having your phone's navigation app reflect on the infotainment screen. That is, unless you're one of the very few who uses Apple Maps (and if you are...why?). It wasn't until recently with the release of iOS 12 that the tech company announced that it would finally support third-party navigation apps for CarPlay. Not long after that, Google Maps released an update to make the app CarPlay-compatible.
Now, Macworld reports that Waze is finally making its way to CarPlay as well. Version 4.43.4 of the popular navigation app was released today on the App Store, and the description reads:" Waze now works with CarPlay - connect your iPhone and use Waze conveniently from your built-in car display."
This is great news for iPhone users everywhere, especially in our country where Waze reigns supreme as the go-to navigation app. It's been a very long time coming in tech terms, too, considering that CarPlay was launched all the way back in 2014. It should make wading through traffic a hell of a lot easier.
