A more powerful Toyota Alphard is already available just over a month after Toyota Motor Philippines introduced the luxury van in the country.
The six-speed automatic transmission Toyota Alphard comes with a 3.5-liter V6 Dual VVT-i engine that delivers 271hp at 6,200rpm and 340Nm at 4,700rpm.
The new Alphard variant is priced at P2.980 million for the standard colors--Raven Black, Silver Metallic and Beige Metallic--and P2.995 million for the White Pearl color.
Aside from the more powerful engine, the new Toyota Alphard variant also comes equipped with a navigation system incorporated in its audio unit.
Just like the 2.4-liter Toyota Alphard launched in August, the 3.5-liter variant comes with luxury features like power ottomans for front and second-row seat passengers. The third row seats are foldable to deliver maximum storage space.
The 3.5-liter Alphard also comes with standard features like automatic power-folding and reverse-link outer mirrors, rain-sensing wipers, and power slide and easy-closer door with jam protection.
"The Alphard is really for a niche market," said Raymond Rodriguez, Toyota's first vice president for sales and marketing. "It's the flagship minivan for luxury vehicle buyers."
Rodriguez added that the Alphard is for the same market that can afford the Camry and the Previa.
"We won't discontinue the Previa," Rodriguez said. "The Alphard is really more of a van while the Previa is car-type. It's really a matter of preference."
The Toyota Alphard display is just one of the highlights at the on-going Toyota Caravan happening at the Bonifacio Global City until October 10.
