Toyota 86

Now it can officially be told: The pricing for the Toyota 86 will indeed be competitive. Amid speculations on how Toyota Motor Philippines would peg the prices of its much-awaited sports coupe, TopGear.com.ph has received the official list of the 86's introductory prices.

As we reported here last week, there are going to be three variants: a standard manual, a standard automatic and a top-of-the-line automatic with bodykit. A pearl-white paint job is available for all three variants for an additional P15,000.

86 2.0 AT Aero (White Pearl) - P1,875,000

86 2.0 AT Aero - P1,860,000

86 2.0 AT (White Pearl) - P1,665,000

86 2.0 AT - P1,650,000

86 2.0 MT (White Pearl) - P1,565,000

* 86 2.0 MT - P1,550,000

So, what do you think of these prices?

Is it on display in the Toyota dealers already?
  • JFLising 13 months ago
Does the top-of-the-line variant come in MT or AT?
    • JFLising 13 months ago
I guess it's only in AT. xDDD
    • edrian1011 13 months ago
AT means automatic and MT means manual... Nakalagay kaya dun :)

      Ito po o: 86 2.0 -AT- Aero (White Pearl) - P1,875,000
  • Vernon B. Sarne
@ JFLising - Please read the price list.
    • gasoline_boy 13 months ago

      • Vernon B. Sarne
        I'm a stick shift guy :)
        • Kyoichi Sudo 13 months ago
Manual is more fun than Matic(unless if it has paddles!)
        • barry 11 months ago
pareho tayo chief! but im expecting this car at the MIAS and the other tuning cars next year...
    • JFLising 13 months ago
That's what i though. I was just confused. Haha. Thanks boss. :D
  • GotToRead 13 months ago
Damn it! I need to talk this out to my dad! Me, don't like a Fortuner! HAHA
  • carwiki 13 months ago
    Affordable sports car! :)
  • carwiki 13 months ago
When will it be in the showroom?
  • ceejhay 13 months ago
this will certainly compliment the fort on my garage. hahaha. as if i have one.
  • brokenman 13 months ago
any photos for the aero bodykit?
  • brokenman 13 months ago
and also, will the BRZ follow soon? somehow I like the BRZ's bumper design better.
  • tgstig 13 months ago
i think the Aero variant has a spoiler... wala naman atang bodykit ang aero
  • iancmv 13 months ago
D@&N!! If I could just sell our things for this! Genesis coupe may give more features and power for your money, but this 86 is on the road to classic and cult status!!
  • brokenman 13 months ago
so the tiny rear spoiler seen in the photos/videos will set us back P195,000 (based on the list)?
    • tgstig 13 months ago
di naman... sa interior may extras ka rin siguro na makukuha, like a better seat material... we'll see it when the specs come out.
  • Oman88 13 months ago
Properly priced, atleast the way i see it! I want this car, yon lang wala ako parking!!!
  • LoremIpsum 13 months ago
I really like the logo..it looks like a super heroes logo
  • eyhobhoy 13 months ago
In that price will buy na lang ng Montero.
    • RS500 13 months ago
dude iba naman to sa montero.
    • isaac3654 13 months ago
Yep magkaiba po sila :) tell me when the Montero can drift and be driven in a togue without problems... ok? :))
    • Kyoichi Sudo 11 months ago
Dude, I know that many Filipinos really dream and wants a Montero Sport but dude, comparing a SUV to a sports coupe? Even though I'm a Mitsufan, I still find your comment..............um.....hilarious?
      • eyhobhoy 13 months ago
        Dun ako sa price nagcompare.
        • Kyoichi Sudo 13 months ago
Ahh ok. Ang ibig mong sabihin mas gusto mo ang Monty kesa sa 86 kasi mas paki-pakinabang unlike the GT-86 na just for fun and porma. If thats your case then I'll respect it.
    • Troy 13 months ago
Hahahaha! Sorry dude pero napatawa mo ako! :))
Ibang iba naman ang Toyota 86 kesa sa montero! HAHAHA! PEACE! ^.^
      • eyhobhoy 13 months ago
I know, but what I'm comparing is the price, at that price maspipili ako ng marami ang makaksakay.
    • carwiki 13 months ago
Sorry, I disagree. Comparing a SUV to a sports coupe?
      • eyhobhoy 13 months ago
I'm just only comparing the price.
    • John Rigor 11 months ago
Santa Fe R-eVGT na lang para halos pareho sila ng power ng FT86. :))
  • vjfajardo0728 13 months ago
    Sayonara Hyundai Genesis 2.0

    Nippon, Banzai!!!
    • Feeter Silverster 13 months ago
Genesis Coupe 3.8 V6 is also below 2M mark.
    • John Rigor 11 months ago
FT86 > Genesis 2.0, even if its the new one.
  • isaac3654 13 months ago
Seryoso napaka good value! Comparable cia sa prices sa US (Scion FR-S). Ang 6-AT ng Toyota 86 is very excellent. Don't complain about it. Trust me on this :D. Have you driven a Lexus IS F? Or have you watched a video of a Lexus IS F's acceleration? The 8-Speeed shifts lightning fast right? Like a DCT! Did you know that's the exact same autobox in this 86, albeit, 2 gears were removed. Still shifts lightning fast! :)
    • tgstig 13 months ago
      yep! 6-Speed Sport Direct Shift!
      • someonespecialisme 11 months ago
yup but when you buy a car like this...i think its still more fun to get a stickshift..kasi ung lSF..its better in automatic since its a sports sedan...the ISF..well its an supercar so better get a automatic..
    • Troy 13 months ago
Wow i'm amazed man! Thumbs up! :)
  • mark14 13 months ago
    nice!
  • tgstig 13 months ago
i hope toyota can supply the demand... oh please wag naman pila!
    • BOOGIECAT 13 months ago
Wish ko lang makakuha ako kaagad lalo na't malapit ko nang makuha ang bonus ko sa June or July!Though M/T variant lang ang kukunin ko!
      • carwiki 13 months ago
Us also. We are now planning to buy one, manual variant yung kukuhanin namin, (base model). Ok na rin yung manual sir para mas mabilis.
      • tgstig 11 months ago
I want the TOTL A/T with paddle shift. but if the aero variant has the ridiculous large spoiler, ill get the mid variant and install the orignal (smaller) spoiler.
        • Troy 13 months ago
Nice idea. You don't need a large spoiler in that car, masisira lang yung porma.
  • aeronTGco 13 months ago
    What are the available colors?
  • mindkinetic 13 months ago
i say its time to write a check hahaha
  • art 13 months ago
may automatic pala siya. parang it defeated the purpose for such a car...
sana may MT with bodykit din.
    • gasoline_boy 13 months ago
just contact atoy for the bodykits and contact ferman for the turbo.. :)
    • isaac3654 13 months ago
Trust me, you're gonna love the automatic. Seen how the Lexus IS F shifts? It shifts lightning fast right? Like a dual clutch tranny. The flappy paddle gearbox in this is excellent. Very sensational. Watch videos in YouTube, IS F and Toyota 86 6-AT, and be mesmerized :))
  • car_mac 13 months ago
Any news about the Subaru BRZ's pricing? I really like the BRZ rather than the 86, much much more sporty with the Subaru badge.
  • jigg11 13 months ago
awts. konti na lang kulang sa budget ko. konting ipon na lang at akin ka na 86!
  • bvnzn 13 months ago
Introductory price? Meaning these prices aren't permanent and will increase? I hope Im wrong
    • tgstig 11 months ago
yep... maybe next year when the subaru brz arrives.
      • BOOGIECAT 13 months ago
Mga 50K-100K ang price increase nyan pag dumami ang orders at bumenta yan..
  • TJPewter 13 months ago
Meh... good enough but I'd still have the more powerful facelifted Genesis when it comes out... imho
    • BOOGIECAT 13 months ago
Magmamahal ang Genesis Coupe pag lumabas na ang GDI engine variants at saka affordable GT car na pang masa ang GC while ang 86 ay affordable na compact sports car!
    • tgstig 11 months ago
yes the genesis is powerful but its too large and heavy... lalo na yung 3.8 V6
    • isaac3654 11 months ago
I watch all the episodes of Motor Trend's Ignition, and what they say about the 86 is (Scion FR-S in US) it's motoring perfection. It's the US$25,000 Porsche Boxster. It's that good. Horspower, Straight-line numbers just disappear. Everything is so balanced. Having the boxer engine placed so low means low center of gravity, hence, the 86 doesn't need a firm suspension to be stable, so it's also comfortable. The GC on the other hand, is willing to understeer, but the GC is more of a GT rather than a sportscar. Its interior is sumptuous. It has a V6. Its big. Its not a rival to the 86, but a rival to the Mustang, and Camaro. :)
  • japster_13 13 months ago
people are gonna complain again if the Aero package has a lot better equipment than the base (most specially if the base is bare bones) since you can't buy it with an MT
  • jeprockz 11 months ago
    ok. lets do the math.

    selling price: P1,550,000
    20% DP: P310,000
    5yrs: P28,138

not bad. i really REALLY hope my business start to pick-up. i want one!
    • BOOGIECAT 13 months ago
Magiging mabenta yan for sure..Hoping mga 100-200 units every 3 months ang dalhin ng TMPC dito!
  • Giovchan 11 months ago

    • mts 13 months ago
Even though RX8 has only 1.3L engine (but it produce 200 plus hp), sana may showdown.. Is it possible even if this car hasn't arrive on our shores?
  • jclogan 13 months ago
Good pricing. Now the Hyundai Coupe has got some competitor. After a long while, a great car from Toyota is finally coming.
  • Fernando Amorsolo 13 months ago
Toyota is now back to its Finest days. When they are the coolest (along with Honda) and produces QUALITY cars. Nowadays, people tend to shift to 'cool looking' cars and NUMBER cars (I mean just good in numbers in specs) but quality compromised.

Now, Toyota is the thing that proves that it can live with its ace of Quality, then now, Beauty hehe
