Honda's CB4 Interceptor concept is the cafe racer of the future

The past meets the future

It's a bit odd to think of a cafe racer as being futuristic. After all, the very concept of its design is based on old-school cues and inspirations. That said, we reckon this new CB4 Interceptor concept from Honda does a pretty fine job of bringing the past up to date with the present and future.

Introduced at the Milan Motorcycle Show (EICMA), this bike was designed at Honda's R&D facility in Rome. It's the result of ongoing research into the Neo Sports Cafe design theme which Honda began several years ago, beginning with the original CB4 concept from EICMA 2015. The Interceptor further builds on the original with a new 'Sport Endurance' tone to its overall look.

The color theme is described by Honda as being "total black," making for a sleek, sporty, and flowing design. Up front, there's a fan that converts kinetic energy to power the bike's touchscreen monitor. The latter allows riders to make emergency calls, read digital maps, and connect their devices.

Would you like to see the CB4 Interceptor hit the production line someday?
