The BMW Group earned the Most Sustainable Car Manufacturer title for the sixth straight year with its alternative vehicle concepts, and the technologies and practices it applies in car production.

Dow Jones Sustainability Indexes, which tracks sustainability leaders of each industry on a global and regional level, said BMW’s achievement is based on the actions the firm has taken throughout its supply chain. This includes the development of fuel-saving and alternative vehicle concepts as well as its clean production processes and green recycling practices.

“We are delighted to be recognized by the renowned Dow Jones Sustainability Indexes,” said BMW chairman Norbert Reithofer. “This independent ranking confirms once again that the BMW Group plays a leading role in the automotive industry of the future.”

Asian Carmakers Corp., distributor of BMW vehicles in the Philippines, supports the BMW Group’s global sustainability programs by engaging in local environmental advocacies such as the One Million Trees Project of De La Salle Canlubang and the Hands On Manila Servathon.
