Like all recent Subarus, the all-new Forester is built on the Japanese carmaker's new global platform. It's promised to be the roomiest version to date, and it's easy to see that with the more muscular shoulder and haunches. Up front, there's a sportier hexagonal grille and larger LED headlights. Luggage space is increased to 2,155 liters with the seats folded, while the added leg- and headroom "bolster passenger comfort and a feeling of spaciousness in the cabin." Roof rails come standard on all but the base variant.
All the new Forester models are powered by an updated 2.5-liter boxer mill with 176hp and 239Nm on tap, mated to a CVT with paddle shifters. Subaru claims it can manage up to 14km/L on the highway. Lineartronic All-wheel drive power every variant. Safety features come via the EyeSight suite, and includes adaptive cruise control, pre-collision braking, and DriverFocus driving monitoring system on the Touring models.
No word yet on when we'll be seeing this one, but if Motor Image Pilipinas' recent barrage of Forester sales promos are anything to go by, it could be sooner rather than later.
