Dodge has unveiled "the most powerful muscle car ever," with 707hp and 881Nm on tap via a 6.2-liter supercharged V8 engine. Meet the Challenger SRT Hellcat.
Besides its humongous power under the hood, the Challenger SRT Hellcat has also been redesigned and re-engineered to be "the most true-to-form muscle coupe on the market with performance-enhancing technologies inside and out." Putting the power down to the car's rear wheels is the new TorqueFlite eight-speed automatic transmission.
The biggest party tricks of the Challenger SRT Hellcat are its red key fob and black key fob. According to Dodge, the black key fob limits the car’s output to 500hp while the red one unleashes the entire power output of the muscle car.
The Challenger SRT Hellcat is due to go on sale in the US "in the third quarter of 2014." Will local Dodge distributor CATS Motors bring in a unit or two? We'll see.
