This is the Rolls-Royce Black Badge Ghost Gamer. It is a special edition of the Rolls-Royce Black Badge Ghost that pays tribute to the 8-bit video games of the ’70s and ’80s, and it is, without a doubt, really quite cool.

Because look, there’s a ‘Player 1’ embroidered on the driver’s seat! And look, there’s a starlight headliner covered in a ‘pixel blaster’ design! And look, there’s a hand-painted ‘cheeky alien’ poking out from the Ghost’s exterior coachline!

To anyone who (mis)spent their youth hanging around gaming arcades slinging coins into massive boxes filled with old screens, it’s a bit of a nostalgia trip. Apparently, “several Rolls-Royce clients are actively engaged in this growing market,” hence why this one’s deployed full 8-bit retro goodness.

There’s but the one exterior pic, but it’s apparently got a two-tone finish—black over blue—with that alien hand-painted in a pixelated ‘explosion’ design. The Spirit of Ecstasy and the grille are both illuminated too, as is the interior fascia, here “reworked to evoke the ‘Laser Base’ backdrops of many early games.” That means it gets a gunship powering through the stars. Nice.

Rolls-Royce has also embroidered ‘Player 2’, ‘Player 3,’ and ‘Player 4’ on the passenger and rear seats, while even the stitching used is meant to echo the flicker you get from classic arcades. Keep searching, and you’ll spot a pair of flying saucer spaceships inlaid in the bit between the seats.

The illuminated treadplates get ‘press start,’ ‘loading…,’ ‘level up’ and ‘insert coin’ lettering, and there are other hidden ‘Easter eggs,’ too: An alien inlaid on the rear picnic table, and an 8-bit motif engraved on the hidden side of the front black ‘eyeball’ air vent.

“Delivered to a tech entrepreneur, this commission shows how Black Badge responds to the passions, tastes, and cultural codes of a new generation of collectors,” said Rolls-Royce, “who dare to play differently.”

There’s plenty for the new owner to play with, of course: a 6.75-liter V12 delivering an immaculately polished 584hp and an immaculately groomed 1,219Nm of torque.
