The Suzuki Fronx will be making its pre-debut at the Matsuri Village, a display hosted by Suzuki Philippines in the SM Mall of Asia on June 14 in celebration of its 50th anniversary in the market.
Previously, the Fronx made rounds over in Thailand and Indonesia, and it looks like the Philippines is its next stop. With the introduction of a new subcompact crossover, those yearning for an updated Vitara or a more urban-looking Jimny may find some solace with the Fronx.

Like the recently debuted Dzire Hybrid, the Fronx also comes in at under 4,000mm in length, making it a definite competitor against the likes of the Toyota Raize and the Kia Sonet. But unlike those Indonesia- and China-made crossovers, the PH-spec’d Fronx will likely come from India.

In terms of power, the Suzuki Fronx could pack two kinds of three-cylinders: The 1.5-liter naturally aspirated K15B engine that is found on the Jimny and most other locally available Suzuki models, or the 1.2-liter mild hybrid system that was most recently seen on the aforementioned Dzire Hybrid.
If it ends up following the new Dzire’s footsteps and form factor, then its powertrain should be mated to a CVT, as opposed to the AGS or four-speed automatic transmissions on existing Suzuki vehicles.
While it will be previewed on June 14, Suzuki Philippines has yet to comment on an official release date. The brand is celebrating a milestone year, anyway, so it wouldn’t be surprising to see another big launch within the next few months.
