This is the Xiaomi SU7 Ultra: the hardcore, track-focused version of Xiaomi’s all-electric sedan. And no, it’s not going up against the Samsung S22. It’s instead targeting the Porsche Taycan Turbo GT’s Nürburgring record for four-door electric vehicles.
Powered by a triumvirate of electric motors that amount to 1,527hp and more torque than Captain America after a few, the (claimed) acceleration times are...impressive: 0-100kph in 1.97sec, while it’ll take an extra 4sec to get to 200kph. Wait another 9sec and you’ll see 300kph on the speedo before it plateaus at 350kph. Yep, impressive.

Further mechanical details remain scarce for now, but we know it’ll wear a set of Pirelli PZero tires ahead of the AP Racing brakes to try and neutralize some of the plentiful power reserves.

It’s also gone through a strong carbon-fiber-based diet to help lose 500kg over the standard S7 (now sitting at circa 1,900kg). The extra aero bits even mean—yep, you guessed it—more downforce: 2,145kg peak, to be precise.

Numbers aside, the Pikachu paint scheme does well to dramatize the sharper fins and the deeper inlets now gained, while the stance appears to have dropped by a few centimeters to draw even more oohs and aahs from bystanders.
Xiaomi has confirmed the SU7 Ultra’s first attempt at the ’Ring will come in October when it’ll aim to better the Taycan’s 7min 5.5sec. Do you think it stands a chance?
