Ducati is once again honoring Ayrton Senna by producing a limited-edition motorcycle that will be sold exclusively to the Brazilian market, the home country of the much-revered Formula 1 legend.
To be based on the 1199 Panigale S, the motorcycle sports a livery that was chosen by Senna himself \"during his visit to the Ducati factory only a few weeks before his last race in Imola in 1994.\" The livery was originally used on Ducati\'s first tribute to the race driver: the 916 Senna I, II and III models built and sold in limited numbers in the late 1990s.
Limited to 161 units--signifying the number of Formula 1 races competed in by Senna--the 1199 Panigale S Senna will be equipped with a racing exhaust system and have its individual production number inscribed on the top fork clamp.
The 1199 Panigale S Senna will officially go on sale in June 2014.
