Hyundai Motor Philippines formally handed over two Hyundai Elantras to the Philippine National Police. The ceremonial turnover was held on Friday at the PNP National Headquarters.
Attending the ceremony were acting chief PGen. Jose Melencio Nartatez, director of logistics PMGen. Martin Defensor Jr., deputy director for logistics PBGen. Roel Rodolfo, Hyundai Motor Philippines president Jiho Son, and managing director Cecil Capacete.
The cars turned over were an Elantra GL STD and an Elantra HEV. The former is powered by a 1.6-liter gasoline engine producing 126hp and 155Nm of torque, while the latter has a 1.6-liter gasoline engine paired with an electric motor, delivering a combined 139hp and 147Nm of torque.

These two units were also spec’d with advanced systems used by the Korean National Police Agency. Some features include surround-view cameras, radar-based speed detection, and an intelligent plate recognition system. These tools aid operations and help keep PNP personnel safe in various situations.
