The recently-held Hyundai Global Distributors Convention in Seoul turned out to be a very eventful one for Hyundai Asia Resources Inc. (HARI), as the company managed to walk away with the event's prestigious Global Distributor of the Year award.

This is the second time HARI has won Global Distributor of the Year, with the first win coming in 2010. The company saw record-breaking growth figures spearheaded by March, 2017 sales of 3,371 units—HARI's highest monthly output in its 15-year history. This managed to push first quarter sales up to 8,841 units, which is an 18% increase compared to the same period in the year prior.

Accepting the award for the company was Ma. Fe Perez-Agudo, who proudly declared that HARI is ready to take its business to the next level: "We are ready to bring new business and economic value, to take our partnership with Hyundai Motor Company to greater heights, and to strengthen the Hyundai brand presence in the ASEAN. Together, with the Hyundai Motor Company, we raise the Hyundai banner strong and proud in the Philippines and Southeast Asia.”

HARI's recent sales performance further builds on Hyundai's position as the third top-ranking carmaker in the Philippines, the company says. Is this a sign of even bigger things to come for the Korean manufacturer?
