The latest report from the Chamber of Automotive Manufacturers of the Philippines (CAMPI) and the Truck Manufacturers Association (TMA) has revealed that the Philippine automotive industry has recorded another year-on-year increase. 2025 is shaping up to be a good year for the industry thus far.
As of May 2025, 190,429 cars have been sold in the Philippines, marking a 1.7% growth from the same period last year. Interestingly, last May was a particularly strong season, as 39,775 units were sold in that month alone. That number makes for an impressive 18.4% month-on-month increase from April 2025.

Market share leaders remain unchanged since the last CAMPI and TMA report, issued at the end of this year’s first quarter. Toyota Motor Philippines is still on top at a 48.13% share, thanks to 91,652 units sold year-to-date. That marks a healthy 6.3% improvement from the brand’s numbers last year, at 46.08% and 86,257 units sold.

TMP is followed by Mitsubishi Motors Philippines at 19.23%, with 36,613 cars sold. MMPC has also shown steady growth from last year, posting a 4.2% increase from its 18.78% share.
Rounding out the podium is Nissan Philippines with a market share of 5.19% and 9,879 units sold. While NPI has retained its third-place standing, its numbers have dropped by 14.5%, as compared to its May 2024 outing. Back then, it boasted a 6.17% market share and broke through the 10,000 unit ceiling with 11,559 cars sold. NPI looks to regain its footing as new president Masao Tsutsumi plans to release 10-12 new vehicles over the next three years.
Earlier this year, CAMPI and TMA set out to sell 500,000 vehicles by the end of 2025. We’ve just exited the halfway point of this year, and it looks like the industry will need a couple of pushes to reach its goal. However, there are still many releases to look out for, and so we shouldn’t count out 2025 just yet.
