Another ultra-luxury car marque lands on Philippine shores. Rolls-Royce has appointed British Bespoke Automobiles as its official importer for the country. The distributor will import the Ghost, the Phantom and the Wraith into the country.

At the dealer appointment ceremony this afternoon, Rolls-Royce Motor Cars Asia-Pacific regional director Paul Harris briefly explained the luxury brand\'s entry to the country. According to Harris, the high-end British car marque has been looking to increase its number of dealerships and showrooms in the Asian region.

\"It is a positive time for Rolls-Royce Motor Cars to be entering the Philippines,\" he said in a statement. \"The Philippines is one of the fastest-growing Asian economies this year, and we are confident that the brand will do well in this country. I am looking forward to moving ahead with British Bespoke Automobiles in this exciting new market.\"

An extended-wheelbase Rolls-Royce Ghost was displayed at the ceremony. If you\'d like to see the luxury cars in the metal, an interim showroom will be available by October. Construction of its permanent showroom in Bonifacio Global City has started this month. By first quarter of 2014, the BGC showroom is expected to be operational.

The \"entry-level\" Ghost is priced at P25.9 million. This price of the car \"slowly goes up,\" as you further customize the car. Upon ordering an ultra-luxury car such as a Rolls-Royce, don\'t expect it to roll out of the factory the next day. \"It takes about 440 man-hours to build one Rolls-Royce car,\" said Rolls-Royce Motor Cars Manila general manager Ryan Watson. Later in the program, it was revealed that the Phantom takes about 650 man-hours to build. One highly customized Rolls-Royce car, in fact, took three years to make before it was delivered to the customer. So, once you place an order for the Ghost, expect it to arrive after four to five months, depending on the customization. Meanwhile, the Phantom may roll out six to seven months after you order one.

\"Rolls-Royce vehicles are no longer cars, but art,\" said Rolls-Royce Motor Cars Manila president Willy Tee Ten. \"I am committed to bringing in the Phantom, the Ghost and the Wraith, and providing the best ownership experience.\"
