Asian Carmakers Corporation, the exclusive distributor of BMW vehicles in the Philippines, has a special--and unbelievable--offer for the 730d.
From its regular price of P8.19 million, the German carmaker's diesel-fed flagship sedan is now being offered "at a preferential price of P6 million, a very sizable P2.19-million discount--an amount you could spend on a 1-Series.
If that discount isn't enough to shock you, then perhaps this other bit of news we gathered will.
Apparently, the 730d is also being offered through BMW's FlexiLease program, which was launched in April. Through the program, you can lease the car at P117,851 a month after paying a refundable deposit of P600,000 and a P2,000 one-time processing fee.
While the monthly lease fee is higher than the annual income of a minimum wage-employee in Metro Manila, it does cover the car's comprehensive insurance, LTO registration, and the car's standard maintenance service.
Now, before you rush off to the nearest BMW dealership, you should note that this offer is supposedly being extended "to a select few." In this case, it means those who received an e-mail which offered the program (since it requires presenting a copy of the letter "when you visit your preferred BMW dealer").
ACC marketing manager Karl Magsuci clarifies that the 730d units have been used as shuttle vehicles for various international conferences held in the country recently. As such, the mileage on the odometer is very minimal, and the cars have never been registered.
Wow. We've never received an e-mail informing us we're entitled to a P2.19-million discount on a luxury car.
