Bill Gates is, apparently, the richest person in the entire global car industry.
Surprising, we know, but according to Bloomberg’s list of the 20 richest individuals in the business based on total wealth, the Microsoft man’s $914,554,258 stake in AutoNation Inc.—a new and used car dealership company—places him on top of the automotive world financially. The above-mentioned figure accounts for just less than 1% of his Gates’s total net worth, though.
Tesla’s Larry Ellison and Elon Musk are second and third on the list, respectively, while Tata Motors’ Pallonji Mistry comes fourth, and BMW’s Susanne Klatten (who happens to be Germany’s second-richest person) finds herself in fifth.
Cox Automotive, which includes Kelley Blue Book and Autotrader.com, among other brands, has the most number of representatives on this list with five. Check out the full list below:
