Jaguar has added another car to its R performance lineup, and it's the XJR that is set to debut at the 2013 New York Auto Show.
With a 5.0-liter, 542hp supercharged V8 engine under the hood, and with bespoke chassis and aerodynamic developments, Jaguar claims that the XJR is "the most focused, agile and responsive XJ ever made." The British carmaker also noted that the sedan combines the performance of a supercar with assertive looks and the highest levels of luxury.
"The new XJR epitomizes the three pillars of technology, performance and contemporary design, which the Jaguar brand stands for in the 21st century, while delivering new levels of dynamic ability in a luxury sedan," said Jaguar global brand director Adrian Hallmark.
