Although Marlon Stockinger has just been confirmed by Lotus F1 as one of its seven Junior Team drivers, the Formula 1 team will soon give the Fil-Swiss driver the opportunity to drive its F1 car. Making this good news even better is that Stockinger will get to drive it in Manila in May.
That's right: In less than three months (the first week of May, according to Stockinger himself), Lotus's F1 car will be driven in Manila by no less than the Philippines' top Formula 1 prospect.
"The car will be either the 2012 or the 2011 car," Stockinger told TopGear.com.ph. "Either way, it's an F1 car and to have this opportunity is fantastic. The fans can expect a great show filled with a lot of rubber-burning and loud noise. We want the Philippines and all the F1 fans to witness a Pinoy in an F1 car driving on home soil. It's just a dream come true!"
Excited already? We know we are.
