The Ayala Greenfield Interchange is finally coming into fruition as San Miguel Corporation (SMC) and Ayala Greenfield Development Corporation (AGDC) broke ground on Monday, October 14.

The project will connect the 7.6km SLEX Toll Road 3 (Calamba, Laguna to Sto. Tomas, Batangas) to local roads around Calamba. With this, homeowners of Ayala Greenfield will get a more direct exit into the residential area and all motorists coming from Calamba will have easier access to the South Luzon Expressway and STAR Tollway.

Calamba City mayor Roseller Rizal also commented on how the interchange will also make traveling in and around Calamba easier for tourists and businesses, “[The interchange addresses] the growing volume of vehicles and visitors that flock to the resort capital of the Philippines and the growth corridor of the Calabarzon region, Calamba City.”

The interchange also marks a key partnership between SMC and AGCD. The latter being the developer of Ayala Greenfield Estates, a 550-hectare premier residential community in Calamba, while SMC is currently leading the expansion of SLEX. The fourth and final toll road is currently under construction and will be the longest addition to the expressway—66.7km, connecting Sto. Tomas to Lucena City in Quezon province.
