The Philippines has seen its fair share of infrastructure projects over the past couple of years, thanks to the current administration’s Build, Build, Build program. This time, however, the latest addition to the long list of ongoing road works is courtesy of the North Luzon Expressway (NLEX) Corporation: the Bocaue Bridge rehabilitation project.
According to the official advisory from NLEX, major repairs along the Bocaue River Bridge in Bulacan will begin today, June 19, 2019, and is scheduled to finish by September 7 this year. The work will include deck slab replacement and girder strengthening. Check out the official statement below:
The repairs will be located around 300 meters north of the Bocaue interchange. This first stage of the rehabilitation project will cover middle lanes along the southbound portion of the expressway, and is scheduled to be completed by July 12. Heavier traffic is expected around the area, and counter-flow schemes will be implemented as necessary—you can also expect the traffic flow on the northbound lanes to be affected. See the statement below for more details:
Will the few months of heavier traffic prove to be worth it? Tell us what you think.
