The Deparment of Transportation has made an announcement on the operating schedule of train lines for Holy Week this year. With much of the country taking the holiday to stay home (in no small part due to the fuel crisis) and with majority of the workforce in the city out, train operators are taking advantage of this time to perform maintenance.
Holy Week 2026 operation schedules for LRT-1, LRT-2, and MRT-3:

The LRT-1, LRT-2, and MRT-3 lines will be suspending operations from Thursday, April 2, to Sunday, April 5. Services on these lines resumes on Monday, April 6.

The Philippine National Railway, meanwhile, will be suspending operations on Friday, April 3 and Saturday, April 4. The PNR will resume operations on Monday, April 6.
