In the Philippines, sometimes heading to the airport to fetch a loved one is as much a pain in the ass as it is a heartwarming reunion. Traffic on the way to the Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA) can be hell, and finding parking once you get there can be a frustrating ordeal, too.
Now, it looks like the government has addressed at least one of those issues. The Department of Transportation (DOTr) has just announced that the Manila International Airport Authority is adding parking slots to NAIA Terminal 1.
According to the agency, the move comes in a bid to effectively cater to the growing number of airport terminal users. NAIA Terminal 1’s Parking C, which was formerly occupied by airport transport providers, will once again become a parking area. It will be able to accommodate up to 400 vehicles, the DOTr says. Below are the parking rates.
NAIA Termina 1 Parking C rates:
*First three hours – P40
*Per succeeding hour – P15
The DOTr says the parking area will be open to motorists 24 hours a day, seven days a week. Perfect! This is just in time for the 2018 holiday rush. Thanks to developments like this and the NAIA Expressway, which cuts travel time to the airport terminals by a considerable chunk, things are finally looking up.
