Motorists who often drive around the PhilSports Arena area (formerly known as Ultra) will be happy to know that Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) road repairs along Henry Javier Street have now been completed.

“Motorists passing along the highly commercialized area of Pasig City can now have a smoother ride with the completion of the road rehabilitation project along Captain Henry Javier Street in Pasig City,” the agency says in a statement released on Facebook.

“The rehabilitation of this busy road will surely be a relief for motorists coming from Ortigas Business District going to E. Rodriguez Avenue, Pasig Boulevard, and C5 Road as they can now have a more comfortable and faster travel time,” DPWH head Mark Villar said in a statement.

The section of road the DPWH is referring to is a 756-meter stretch located between the Valle Verde Country Club and Capitol Commons. How much did the rehabilitation project cost? The replacement of the previous surface with 300mm-thick Portland concrete cement pavement cost P29 million.

Prior to the project’s completion, a buildup of traffic was a common occurrence along the thoroughfare. Hopefully, this is now a thing of the past.
