LTO now lets you check online if your license plates are ready

Are you one of the countless motorists still waiting for your car's license plates? If yes, you'll be glad to know the Land Transportation Office (LTO) has launched a website dedicated to checking if said plates are already available.

It's called the Motor Vehicle 7-Character Plate Backlog Inquiry (whew), and all you have to do to check on your plate's status is to enter the 15-digit MV number located on the top-left side of your certificate of registration. If your plate is available, the website will tell you when and at what office you can pick it up. Here's the link to the website. Simple enough, right?

As of now, the Department of Transportation (DOTr) says this will apply to plates registered from July to October 2016. We expect the number of plates available for checking to increase moving forward.
