Segment 8.2 Section 1A of the North Luzon Expressway-C5 Northlink is now officially open. After conducting final inspections of the new toll road, President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. announced that toll fees will be waived until December 31, 2026.

The 2km section is expected to accommodate about 11,000 vehicles a day as it connects the NLEX Mindanao Avenue toll plaza to Quirino Highway. What was once a 40-minute drive is now expected to take just five minutes to complete. This segment will also give Manila-bound motorists an additional route via the NLEX Connector.

The newly opened section is expected to decongest traffic along Mindanao Avenue and Quirino Highway.

Marcos said that it was important to open the NLEX-C5 Northlink before the Undas holiday and long weekend. With several citizens expected to travel in and out of Metro Manila, this new road should help accommodate the increased traffic volume in the area.

Motorists on NLEX looking to access the C5 Northlink can take the Harbor Link Interchange and head east toward Mindanao Avenue. From there, they can keep left to enter Segment 8.2 Section 1A and arrive at Quirino Highway.

Those coming from Novaliches can simply get on the Quirino Highway entry ramp in Barangay Bagbag. Once on the C5 Northlink, they can either go west to the NLEX Mindanao toll plaza or drive toward the NLEX Connector.
