With the centennial anniversary of Iglesia Ni Cristo scheduled for July 27 at its newly inaugurated Ciudad de Victoria property in Bocaue and Santa Maria, Bulacan, Tollways Management Corporation, the operator of the North Luzon Expressway, has issued a traffic advisory warning motorists to expect high-volume traffic from July 23 (Wednesday) to July 27 (Sunday).
Ironically enough, TMC's advisory is limited to a terse "Plan Your Trips Ahead." According to Inquirer.net, however, the Metropolitan Manila Development Authority expects around 10,000 buses and 2,400 AUVs and private vehicles to arrive at the venue a day before the event, which will affect traffic on Mindanao Avenue, the Smart Connect Interchange, and nearby towns in Bulacan.
The report added that 2,000 traffic enforcers, rescue personnel and policemen will be deployed to Bulacan this weekend to "maintain peace and order, implement a comprehensive traffic-management plan during the INC event, and do a post-activity cleanup at the site."
