In preparation for the 49th ASEAN Summit to be held at the Philippine International Convention Center (PICC) from November 16 to 18, the Pasay City Government will be conducting temporary road closures starting tomorrow, October 24.

The government office advises motorists and commuters to avoid Macapagal Boulevard, the World Trade Center area, Diokno Boulevard, and affected portions of Roxas Boulevard during this time. Expect heavy traffic in these areas that could cause travel delays.

As part of preparations and security measures for the summit, the government office also said the designated bus lanes will temporarily be converted into ASEAN lanes to prioritize official vehicles and delegations. The office further advised motorists and commuters to allow extra travel time and use alternative routes.

What if your workplace is directly in the area? The government office said that employees will be allowed to enter and pass through restricted areas by presenting their valid company IDs, adding that security protocols will still be in place.

Along with the road closures, the Pasay City Government also announced that from October 24 to November 20, public activities and events will not be allowed along the affected areas.
