The NLEX Harbor Link project takes another step towards completion. Segment 10—which will essentially cut travel time from Valenzuela City to C3 in Caloocan City from one hour to just five minutes—is scheduled to open on February 26, 2019, and the final inspections and dry run were held earlier today.
“The NLEX Harbor Link Segment 10 will be a traffic game-changer since this will drastically cut travel time from Port Area to NLEX,”said Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) secretary Mark Villar. “Once [this elevated expressway is] opened, around 30,000 vehicles daily will be diverted away from busy roads in Metro Manila.”
Villar added that the resulting reduction in travel time will allow motorists to save on operating costs and increase their productivity. The economic impact of directly connecting the Port Area to NLEX is also expected to be significant as trucks and commercial vehicles will not be under the truck ban while
Other benefits of Segment 10’s completion include an increase in land value around the area and the generation of employment, said NLEX Corporation president Luigi Bautista. Do you stand to gain from the NLEX Harbor Link project’s continued development, too?
