The board of the National Economic and Development Authority, which is chaired by President Benigno Aquino III, has approved 12 infrastructure projects for five different departments. What you'll be interested to know is that four of the 12 projects are for the Department of Public Works and Highways, including the construction of a vehicle underpass in the Makati Central Business District.
Estimated to cost P1.27 billion, the four-lane, 880m underpass will traverse Sen. Gil Puyat Avenue underneath, between the intersections of Makati Avenue on one end and of Paseo de Roxas on the other.
Once the project is completed by April 2016, the agency expects that the traffic along that stretch of Sen. Gil Puyat will improve considerably.
The other DPWH projects approved by the NEDA board are the P4.01-billion Metro Manila interchange, the P0.81-bilion Bohol circumferential road restoration of damaged bridges, and the P8.55-billion Cagayan De Oro River flood risk management project.
