The traffic along A. Bonifacio Avenue in Quezon City, Rizal Avenue in Manila, and A. Mabini Avenue in Malabon could be lighter in a few years' time, now that the Manila North Tollways Corporation (MNTC), the operator of the North Luzon Expressway, recently broke ground to mark the construction of its Harbor Link project.
With a length of 8km stretching from the partly finished Mindanao Avenue-NLEX cloverleaf to C3 Road, the project is designed "to provide a more efficient road network southwest of Metro Manila especially for cargo trucks."
Construction of the project will be done in two phases, with the first one being a 2.4km road connecting the NLEX cloverleaf to the MacArthur Highway. The second segment will be a 5.6km road connecting MacArthur Highway interchange to C3 Road.
Costing P10 billion, the entire project is expected to be finished in three years.
