P500k Reward offered for RP's top car thief

The Philippine National Police has offered a P500,000 reward to those who can provide information that will lead to the arrest of the country's top carjack suspect--Eduardo Fernandez.

According to PNP-Highway Patrol Group spokesman Supt. Edwin Butacan, Fernandez was also tagged as the gunman in the killing of car dealer Venson Evangelista in January.

Among those who accused Fernandez of involvement in the murder of Evangelista was a former member of the Dominguez carjacking group headed by brothers Raymond and Roger Dominguez.

Fernandez is also being implicated in the murder of Teresa Teano in Kamuning, Quezon City, last June.

Fernandez is known to use the aliases Rolando Fernandez and Eduardo Talban in carrying out his illicit activities.

According to PNP-HPG Director Chief Supt. Leonardo Espina, Fernandez also engaged in a shootout PNP-HPG elements at Road 3, Project 6, Quezon City, in 2010 where one of the suspect’s followers were killed.

Police authorities said that Fernandez was often spotted in Barangay Ibaba, Mandaluyong City, and Scout Albana St., Kamuning, Quezon City.

Any information on the suspect's whereabouts may be reported to PNP-HPG Tactical Operations Center at numbers 726-1261 to 62 or (0906) 374-5375.
