The Covenant Car Company (TCCCI), Chevrolet’s official distributor in the country, is using the third Philippine International Motor Show (PIMS) to gauge the market's acceptance of its all-new Spark city car.
The all-new Spark is already available in other markets with 1-liter and 1.2-liter engine variants that come with either a five-speed manual or four-speed automatic transmission.
TCCCI marketing manager Bel Laureola said Chevrolet may start selling the new Spark in the Philippines by October but the decision depends on the market’s reception at the PIMS.
"We’re not sure yet about the Spark’s pricing but its indicative price is below P600,000. It could be around P400,000 or P500,000, but it will definitely be below P600,000,” Laureola said.
So if you've always wanted a car that has appeared in the Transformers movie franchise but find the price of the Camaro too exorbitant, let the TCCCI know that you're keen on getting the all-new Spark using our comment box below. After all, the Spark is the vehicle mode of the obnoxious Autobot twins known as Skids and Mudflap in the Transformers movie.
Should TCCCI actually decide to start selling the new Spark in the country, expect the face of actor Ryan Agoncillo to go along with its marketing campaign. Agoncillo, also known to be a car enthusiast, is the new brand ambassador and spokesperson of Chevrolet.
“I’m proud to represent a global brand like Chevrolet,” the actor said. “Its cars are produced with the strictest quality measures to assure that each unit conforms to global quality standards. This means the units I see here in the Philippines are essentially the same ones I'll see all over the world.”
