It wasn’t too long ago when Ducati announced that Marc Marquez will be joining the Ducati Lenovo team in 2025 and 2026 to race alongside two-time MotoGP champion Franceso Bagnaia.
This weekend, just a couple of months after that announcement, Perez got back on top of the podium with a win at the 2024 Aragon Grand Prix. This marks (no pun intended) Marquez’s first MotoGP win in about three years. Before this, he was winless for 1,043 days, to be exact.

Marquez, an eight-time world champion himself, also earned his first Tissot Sprint win at Aragon that saw him starting at pole. There was plenty of drama at the back of the grid, with Bagnaia clawing back en route to the podium, only to finish with a DNF after contact with Alex Marquez saw both of them crashing out of the race.
Eventual race winner Marc Marquez never looked back from first on his way to what was a spectacular outing for him. He has now also earned his first MotoGP win for Gresini Racing and Ducati. Prima Primac Racing’s Jorge Martin closed the weekend out in second, taking back the lead in the title run from Bagnaia. Red Bull GasGas Tech 3’s Pedro Acosta earned the last podium spot in third.
Marc Marquez wins the 2024 Aragon MotoGP:

Marquez has had tough outings in the years leading up to this one. He has been marred with various injuries and has had to undergo multiple surgeries just to get back to the grid. He has now earned his 60th MotoGP winner’s trophy and 86th Grand Prix winner’s trophy, and this win might just be one of his most memorable yet.
