The third round of the 2013 Hyundai Lateral Drift Pro-Am Championship will be held this Saturday, September 28, at Clark International Speedway in Pampanga.
Leading the pro division is Pilipinas Got Talent Season 4 grand finalist Gio Rodriguez with 214 points after dominating the first two rounds. In second place is six-time champion Alex Perez with 161 points, while in third is lone female driver Tin Tin David with 160 points.
In the amateur division, Rob Tan is leading the pack with 194 points, followed by EJ Malibiran in second place with 168 points and Mark Bernardo in third with 168 points.
Serving as competition judges once again are couple and professional drifters Kimihiro Obata and Hiromi Kajikuma from Japan. According to the event promoters, the couple will also give shotgun rides to lucky fans using the series' official drift car, the Hyundai Genesis Coupe.
The tire-burning action will reportedly start with the drivers doing some practice runs starting at 8am, followed by qualifying at 12pm and tandem runs stretching well into 6pm. The third round of the drift series will also be held in conjunction with the 0-400 Challenge, which will feature drag races and time-attack competition.
Best of all, admission is free for spectators. See you there?
