Let this be your itinerary guide

If you\'ve already made arrangements for next month\'s Singapore Grand Prix (September 20 to 22), congratulations--we can assure you, especially if you\'re a first-timer, that you\'re in for one colorful, thrilling and euphoric experience. Make your pit stops very brief and dive right back into the action so you don\'t miss any of the round-the-clock activities the event and the city have to offer.

If you\'re still thinking about attending, our go-to F1-tours facilitator Red Rock Travel is still accepting package purchases, but be warned that race tickets are very quickly selling out. The travel agency\'s base Singapore GP offer is priced at $1,171 per person for two people traveling at the same time; $1,081 per person for a party of three; and $1,526 if you\'re flying solo. The package includes four-day/three-night accommodations at the three-star City Bayview Hotel; round-trip airfare via Singapore Airlines; airport-to-hotel transfers; three-day Bay Grandstand tickets; and complimentary travel insurance.

Red Rock recently organized a promotional event for the media in partnership with the night race\'s management and the country\'s tourism board. In attendance were Sarah Martin, Singapore GP director of operations; Eiktha Khemlani, Singapore GP communications manager; and Sherina Chan, Singapore Tourism Board area director for the Philippines and Brunei. We\'re sharing with you what we picked up from them to help get you revved up for your trip, or to convince you to make those bookings once and for all.

As is always the case with the Singapore GP, the on-track proceedings are followed by a big concert at the Padang Stage every night of the weekend. The main performers this year are Korean group Bigbang (September 20), alternative rock band The Killers (September 21), and Grammy Award-winning R&B artist Rihanna (September 22). All race-ticket holders can get into these Padang Stage concerts free of charge. Meanwhile, those with tickets allowing access to Circuit Park\'s Zone 1 can catch singer-songwriter Bob Geldof (September 20) and sing Sex Bomb with the legendary Tom Jones (September 22) when they perform on the Village Stage.

In addition, a Monday closing concert will also be held for the first time in Singapore GP history. The headline acts? Owl City and...hold your breath...Justin Bieber. (Yes, yes. We know, right?) Tickets for this Padang Stage event are priced at SGD98 for race-ticket holders, and SGD148 for everybody else who wants to go for reasons we can totally, absolutely fathom. Really. We\'re not judging you at all.

Moving on before we get into a bit of a stick, be on the lookout for illusionist and street magician Dynamo as he makes the rounds in Zones 1 and 4 of Circuit Park. (Unfortunately, he has likely signed a contract that forbids him from levitating Justin Bieber off the edge of Marina Bay Sands\' SkyPark.) Other performers to watch for include the multinational Chaos theater production, and the drum beaters of The Dhol Foundation.

Beyond the Marina Bay track boundaries, the Grand Prix Season Singapore (GPSS) is set to provide a wide range of activities and exclusive deals from September 13 to 23. If some of your travel companions aren\'t so much into F1 as you are, here\'s a lineup of attractions they can visit and attend while you\'re busy being a gearhead.

Some entertainment highlights are The Comedy Club Asia stand-up shows at various venues in the city (September 11 to 15); DJ Hardwell\'s performance at Fort Canning Park (September 20); and the \"Bed Invasion: 50\'s Miami White\" party at the Tanjong Beach Club.

For dining specials, head to the Bacchanalia Brunch Series (September 13 to 23), and Racing of Yesteryears at Olivia Cassivelaun Fancourt (September 20 to 23). Arts and culture aficionados will enjoy the Princely Treasures from the House of Liechtenstein, the Chinatown Mid-Autumn Festival, and the Masterpieces from the Pinacothèque de Paris, while shopaholics can knock their wallets out at Rev Up @ Orchard and the Hidden Finds pop-up showcase (which is literally hidden until it pops up at some unexpected venue).
