Auto Focus, the country’s longest-running motoring program, has launched the 2010 People’s Choice Awards with more than 140 vehicles vying for the Automobile of the Year title.
From July 1 to September 30, Filipinos can vote for what they think is the best car in the local market this year. Last year's Automobile of the Year title went to the Hyundai Starex.
Car categories in this year's search are: subcompact sedan, compact sedan, midsize sedan, large sedan, sports car, AUV, minivan, fullsize van, pickup, compact sports utility vehicle (SUV), midsize SUV, and large SUV.
Auto Focus' website, www.autofocus.com.ph, will start accepting votes via an online poll for all 12 categories and for the Automobile of the Year.
The weekly Motoring Section of the Philippine Star will also carry a ballot but voters can only indicate their bet for the Automobile of the Year award. This ballot is equivalent to three votes.
Top Gear Philippines will have a ballot for all the categories from July to September. Since the magazine has a limited monthly run, votes from Top Gear's ballot will be worth five points.
