Shell V-Power global brand manager predicts 2011 Formula 1 champ

See if you agree with him
by Vernon B. Sarne | Mar 24, 2011

During our recent tour of the Shell Technology Centre in Thornton, UK, we got to meet Shell V-Power's global brand manager, Patricio Chababo, who turned out to be a huge Formula 1 fan. As a Shell officer, he gets to be involved in the oil company’s technical partnership with Italian carmaker and perennial F1 front runner Ferrari. We know that many of you--just like us--also follow Formula 1 with a passion, so we thought of asking Patricio who he thought would end up winning the 2011 F1 world championship.

Patricio--who hails from Argentina, which makes him a countryman of legendary five-time F1 champion Juan Manuel Fangio--gladly obliged us. In the video, he reveals that while one particular Ferrari driver is closest to his heart and he hopes this driver does well this coming season, it's another driver whom he predicts to be the eventual 2011 Formula 1 champ.

Watch the video and see also which team he considers to be Ferrari's closest rival, as well as his thoughts on Michael Schumacher. We hope this clip will suffice (for now) in abating our rabid impatience as we wait for the flag-off of Sunday's Australian Grand Prix.
