Good news for all the Android-equipped motorists in the country: Google has just announced that its popular driving companion app, Android Auto, is now available for download in the Philippines.
If you own a smartphone running at least Android 5.0, you can download the app for free via the Google Play Store. Android Auto will allow you to access popular third-party Android apps while on the go, through either your smartphone screen or a compatible touchscreen head unit.
Looking for some guidance in the maze that is Metro Manila’s road system? Just launch Waze or Google Maps to receive directions and real-time traffic alerts. Want to choose tracks or manage a playlist? You can do so via Spotify. You can even take video calls via Skype, though it’s probably best to do so while you’re not on the move.
Google has worked with the world’s top car manufacturers to ensure its app is optimized for driving, and more than 500 models across the globe are already equipped with infotainment systems bundled with Android Auto.
