Under the deal, Unioil will provide industrial and marine oil to Yokohama Philippines.
"This is a living testament that Unioil and Yokohama are in the same line of thinking and reliability aside from the fact that we both value quality consciousness," Unioil general manager Chito Medina-Cue Jr. said in a statement issued after the contract signing in Clark, Pampanga where Yokohama's local plant is located.
Cue added the contract value may surpass the P20-million mark when Yokohama's production and export volumes rise.
Unioil is one of the largest independent retail oil players in the market with 40 service stations nationwide. It also aims to make a mark in the industrial scene. The company is currently targeting ten new lubricant distributors in the Southern Tagalog region, Northern Luzon, Western Visayas and Mindanao areas before the end of the year.
