It’s been just a couple of years since the Hyundai Stargazer X entered the country, and already, it has made a name for itself as a subcompact seven-seater with rugged looks, a versatile interior, practical features, and an eye-catching price tag. In short, it’s got all the right qualities to compete in a segment where buyers want to make the most of their budgets.

The market never stays still, of course, and in the last two years, newer models have landed on our shores, aimed directly at this vehicle class and price range. So for 2026, Hyundai has rolled out an updated Stargazer X that delivers an even better ride and driving experience than before.

On the outside, it now has a bolder and sportier vibe compared with the previous version. The hood has been squared off, giving the front end a stronger presence. The styling cues are more akin to that of an SUV, with a wide and upright grille, prominent bumper accents, bridge-type roof rails, and dark side claddings. Blacked-out alloys match the contrasting black roof on the exclusive Stargazer X paint jobs: Creamy White Pearl, Magnetic Silver Metallic, and Dragon Red Pearl.

Watch: The new Hyundai Stargazer X is a solid people-mover

At 4,610mm long, 1,820mm wide, and 1,740mm tall, this people-mover has relatively trim dimensions, but thanks to its class-leading wheelbase of 2,780mm, the cabin has ample space for all seven occupants—or for up to 1,892 liters of various items when the vehicle is on cargo-hauling duty. Whatever the case may be, the 1.5-liter gasoline engine will easily get the Stargazer X where it needs to be. Hyundai’s aptly named Intelligent Variable Transmission is one of the best CVTs in the business, making the most of the 112hp and 144Nm of torque to deliver peppy acceleration and good fuel economy even with a full load.

Driving the Stargazer X is just as effortless. It’s easy to maneuver through tight roads and cramped parking spaces, with good visibility all around. Hyundai SmartSense also adds driving aids like forward-collision avoidance, lane-following and lane-keeping assist, blind-spot collision warning, and the new Smart Cruise Control with Stop & Go for the top-spec variant. There’s even a tire-pressure monitoring system for quick checks at any point in your travels.

Last but not least, the lineup of multimedia and convenience features ensures a restful and relaxing ride. Aside from being the biggest in its class, the 10.25-inch infotainment display comes with built-in Waze navigation as well as Wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. There’s a wireless charging pad in the center console, plus multiple charge points throughout the cabin. Rear passengers get their own A/C controls, and ambient lighting helps provide a soothing environment.

The regular Stargazer, meanwhile, also has two versions: the 1.5 GL Plus, valued at P1.118 million, and the 1.5 GLS, selling for P1.228 million.
