Hyundai Motor Philippines has a loaded lineup of vehicles—13 passenger cars to be exact. And while the Ioniq 9 and the Palisade are big and bold SUVs, one of the brand’s heaviest hitters might just be the unassuming Venue.

Starting at just P798,000, the Hyundai Venue packs more power than anyone would expect out of a subcompact crossover. Utilizing a sprightly 1.6-liter engine, the Venue’s 121hp and 151Nm of torque will definitely liven up the daily drive to school or the office.

Hit the push-start button, tap on the gas, and the Venue immediately delivers an engaging drive. For even more fun, the Venue’s Sport mode modifies throttle response for a peppier step. And during slower days, Eco mode helps conserve gas and save on fuel costs.

Comfortably fitting five passengers, the wide seats and spacious cabin make this crossover a cozy road companion. Loaded with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, the eight-inch display and four-speaker sound system also make navigation and sound-tripping a breeze. It can handle weekend trips and grocery runs, too, with over 350 liters of cargo space.

With 170mm of ground clearance and a decently tall roofline, the Venue boasts a taller stance while keeping its subcompact form factor. This means great viewing angles while staying nimble on the road.

Hyundai SmartSense also makes its way to the affordable Venue, by way of a rearview camera system and parking sensors. An anti-lock braking system, electronic stability control, and hill-start assist control are also onboard to round out a cohesive safety system.

Available in Denim Blue, Ecotronic Gray Pearl, Abyss Black Pearl, and Atlas White, the Venue has a flavor for everyone. And with prices topping out at P898,000 for the mid-spec GL variant, and P998,000 for the top-end GLS trim, the Venue remains accessible for first-time car buyers, or those looking for a secondary vehicle.
