To make it apt for the times, Jeep has given the Wrangler Rubicon a new 12.3-inch infotainment system inside the cabin, complete with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto connectivity and a premium Alpine audio system. You’ll be hard-pressed to find a setup that compares to this even from the newer cars of this generation.

But despite the further modernization of the Wrangler, it doesn’t forget its roots. Inside, its old-school 4x4 design and layout remain, matching the ever-popular retro exterior. It has undisputed road presence, and it’s sure to turn heads wherever it goes.

And go anywhere it can, because at the heart of the new Jeep Wrangler Rubicon is a tried-and-tested 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder gasoline engine that delivers 268hp at 5,250rpm and 400Nm of torque at 3,000rpm via an eight-speed automatic transmission. Whether overtaking on the highway or climbing slowly uphill through mud and rocks, the Wrangler Rubicon makes light work of whatever path lies ahead.

And if there isn’t a path available, the Wrangler Rubicon can make its own. With a 4x4 drivetrain and off-road-oriented features and accessories like its new 4:1 Rock-Trac HD Full Time 4WD System, first and increased Dana M220 Wide Full Floating Rear Axle, Dana M210 Wide Heavy Duty Tube Front Axle, E-Locker Front and Rear Axle, 4.10 Rear Axle Ratio, Front Disconnecting Stabilizer Bar, Performance Suspension, High Clearance Fender Flares, Rock Protection Sill Rails, Skid Plates, Aux Switches, Integrated Off-Road Camera, with Integrated Washer, and Front and Rear Tow Hooks in its arsenal, this Jeep is well-equipped to take on the toughest of terrain.

The New Wrangler Rubicon is available in both two-door and four-door variants, with prices starting at P5.59 million. For those looking for a more budget-friendly but equally capable Jeep, there’s also the Wrangler 4-Door Sport.

The 4-Door Sport is the gateway to the world of the Wrangler, with this entry-level offering boasting the same engine and drivetrain as its more off-road-oriented Rubicon sibling. It still comes with all-terrain tires right out of the showroom, and it even comes equipped with similar interior amenities and advanced driver-assist systems as the top-of-the-line trim.
