Mitsubishi is now looking to reassert its dominance in the local pickup segment as it gears up to introduce the all-new Mitsubishi Triton. The next-generation model boasts everything that the market wants in a pickup: power, comfort, and looks.
The local truck wars have been raging on for a while now, but it was only in recent years that newer models with updated engines started coming in. This was what made the outgoing Strada look a bit dated and lackluster compared to the competition. But the all-new Triton packs a bigger punch than ever before, with a range-topping 2.4-liter twin-turbo MIVEC diesel engine under its hood, capable of churning out 201hp and 470Nm of torque.
Along with the new powertrain options, the truck comes with manual and automatic gearboxes in both 4x2 and 4x4 configurations, and can be had with the brand’s patented Super Select 4WD II system.

Mitsubishi has tuned the Triton’s suspension, too, ensuring enhanced passenger comfort on the road and improved performance off it. The larger and stronger frame also enables the pickup to carry heavier loads on its bed, making it an even more durable workhorse than its predecessor.
To round out the package, the Triton is now more tech-loaded than ever. It easily matches its competition in terms of advanced safety systems, with features like adaptive cruise control, a 360-degree-view camera, active yaw control, and forward-collision warning with autonomous emergency braking.
It may have taken a while to arrive, but the all-new Mitsubishi Triton is already looking like it was worth the wait—rival pickups had better watch out. Click play on the video above to learn more. If you’re already looking to make a purchase, then reserve yours today by clicking here.
