VinFast’s electric scooters are almost upon us. The Vietnamese brand is now gearing up to launch these new offerings in the Philippines on July 31, 2026, starting with the Feliz II, Viper, and Evo. Ahead of the said launch, VinFast is banking on the electrified motorcycles’ single biggest feature: the One-Minute Swap.

For those who aren’t familiar yet, VinFast’s e-motorcycles come with swappable batteries. Apart from the usual charging method of plugging the scooters or their batteries into a socket, users can also swap out their bikes’ depleted batteries for a fully charged one at a charging station. VinFast claims the entire process will take just one minute.

The Vietnamese manufacturer is emphasizing four key advantages of the One-Minute Swap system:

  • Speed that matches a gas stop – Swapping out a drained battery for a fully charged one is essentially the same as ‘refueling,’ turning a gas stop into a ‘swap stop.’
  • Flexibility on the road – Having the option to choose between charging at home or swapping at a station is a luxury that VinFast E-Motorcycle Philippines is offering its potential customers.
  • Lower upfront costs, not just lower hassle – Subscriptions start at P439 a month, with the first 12 months being offered for free at up to 20 swaps per month, so total costs are lower than buying the e-motorcycle with the battery included.
  • Lower total ownership costs – VinFast claims ownership costs of its motorcycles could be around 25% lower compared to that of a traditional gasoline bike, potentially saving riders tens of thousands of pesos over the course of several years.

Another important thing that VinFast is addressing with the One-Minute Swap system is battery upkeep. As time goes by and the e-motorcycle batteries are further used, their health degrades. With this battery-swapping system, maintenance of the batteries now falls on VinFast. And for added peace of mind, the manufacturer is also guaranteeing customers that it will replace batteries for free if their performance drops below a set threshold.

VinFast is also aiming to build 30,000 of its battery-swapping stations across the Philippines, equating to one station every 5km. Accessibility will not be an issue, especially in the most central parts of Metro Manila.

With its One-Minute Swap system, VinFast is looking to build a network that puts Filipino commuters and riders in mind. It promises convenience and dependability, and it provides easier access to better mobility for everyone.
