My brand new car is due for its first maintenance check. How long will this take and what are the things that the casa will do to the car?

How do I know the car is not being subjected to unnecessary checks which I have to pay for?

It normally will take the technician working on your car only a couple hours to do the checkup and maintenance. Usually it entails an oil, oil filter and spark plug (if petrol engine) change if so indicated in the service manual, as well as a safety inspection of certain areas of the car. The best way to know what they are going to do to the car is to ask them before you leave the car and refer to the provided owner/service manual that came with the car. You did read the manual, right?
