Everyone has a variety of reasons for driving old steel. And here at Rust 'N' Pieces, we love hearing those stories. After all, it's the people behind the wheel that make these cars special.
NAME: Jasper Perez
RIDE: 1976 Mitsubishi Colt Galant (four-door)
WHAT'S THE STORY?
"It is my parent's first car, and I stole it from my mom," says Jasper. It also caught fire when he decided to fill up with aviation fuel one day.
COOL DETAILS
The 4G32 engine is running a racing cam 5 and a single-side Solex carburetor (40mm). "'Yung sounds nya maganda, pero kulang pa ng big valves," says Jasper. After Ondoy, a lot of things had to be replaced.
FUTURE PLANS
"I want another car so that I can finish this project. Everything is really fragile right now. I want to replace the transmission into a five-speed and change the differential."
WHY OLD SCHOOL?
"It has the character!"
